It's so true. I'm not sure which one to believe more: that "when one door closes, another one opens," proverb, or the unyielding power of touching wood.
Because seriously.
My stint at Pizza Hut Bitchdom is now over. Not only did the lazy superior get fired the other day, but yesterday, mum calls me out of my room saying she just got a phonecall, and informed me I'm now apart of the unemployed.
I was like, "WHAT???" thinking I got fired or something. But apparently, the whole Pizza Hut shop got closed down! I'm going to hazard a guess at...I dunno...food quality? Or something along those lines.
And I was like, "Damn. Golly. Hope Hoyts calls soon." And I touched wood, just so it wouldn't backfire and they'd never call --
AND THEY CALLED LIKE, FIVE MINUTES LATER.
I just screamed after I hung up the phone, having landed an interview at 4.15pm on Monday. I mean, WHAT ARE THE ODDS? Come out of a job, and then suddenly, COME INTO (the possiblity of) ONE!
I'm feeling pretty jolly.
Now I just gotta look hot at my interview. Because they won't hire me unless I'm hot. Maybe I should show a little leg. Or a lot. Or I should probably just play it safe and go naked.
Or a not.
My "Wish" jam session with Jeastie was brief, but helpful. For those of you who don't know (and don't actually care,) "Wish" is just part of the title for my new novel that I'm going to fall headfirst into soon. It's still in the early planning stages, and that's where Jeast is helping me out. Her and Aina. They're pretty rockin' at that kinda thing. Steph's great too, but we're still pretty busy with Fire and Ice.
But yeah. Jeast and I figured out a previously implausible part of the plot for "Wish," so I'm very pleased about that. :D We're already at the stage where we're casting characters, and photoshopping people in order to get them to look right. Wanna see some?
No?
Too bad.
*screws around on MS Paint and Imageshack again, much to your chagrin...*
...And yes, I KNOW that most of these people are very well known actors. But I'm just mucking around, so go away and leave me to my fun! ...And there may or may not be, um, two Charmed ones in my mental cast...lol.
CAST LIST:
If you're wildly curious, Allie (Alyssia) is portrayed by Rachael Hurd-Wood, (as is Ophelia...they're meant to look alike.)
Kate: Blake Lively.
Luc: Gaspard Ulliel
Eve: Shannen Doherty
Iris: Elle Fanning
Persephone: Rose McGowan, and
Xaphan: Paul Bettany.
I particularly love my photoshop work on the last guy (who's the evil, mysoginistic character.) I always seem to have a woman-hating dude in my stories, don't I...hah.
Anyway. Laters, ya'll. Wish my luck for my interview at Hoyts Cinemas.
Stay classy, San Diego.
- Lolly.
